Donate Cash, Not Supplies

By Rebecca Morley, Antonia Scannapieco, Hailey Lynch

This Public Service Announcement is a message from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Center for International Disaster Information (CIDI). When international disaster strikes, donate cash, not supplies. Shipping and storage costs greatly increase the cost-per-item and time it takes for donated items to reach the hands of disaster victims in need. And oftentimes, item donations are not exactly what the victim needs. Don’t let your donations end up in the trash. Donate cash today.
